For third year, Rotortrade is proud to support the innovation of energies in the naval sector by sponsoring the Wave Team in the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge.
The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge is organised every year by the Monaco Yacht Club and the “Prince Albert II of Monaco” foundation. The event brings together students and professionals from all over the world with the objective of making the sector more environmentally friendly.
The Wave Team participated in The “Energy Class, in which the YCM provides the participants with two catamaran hulls and lets them build the entire structure and propulsion chain. The objective of this class is creativity, the specifications only impose safety standards, maximum mass and onboard energy.
This sponsorship is part of Rotortrade’s ongoing commitment of supporting innovative technological developments on the mobility industry ensuring our ecological and social sustainability.
Competitors compete not only in speed and endurance races but also in innovation and design, in order to push the teams to minimise the environmental impact of their boat.
The strategy of the Wave team was to reduce the impact of the cockpit on the environment as much as possible by building the cockpit with aluminium and flax-fibre composite, which is a natural fibre with similar characteristics to the carbon fibre, but with a much better environmental impact.
“The whole WAVE team would like to thank Rotortrade and its team for the financial support given to the team during the 8th edition of the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge. This support was essential to ensure the logistics of the team” said Julien Dabat, Wave Team Manager.
Rotortrade congratulates all the participants of the challenge for being proactively leading the way to a sustainable future; especially to the Wave Team who has managed to get a step in the Podium in the last two editions of the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge.
